Permalinks are the urls created for each post in word press. If you are trying to find out what is the best for your SEO optimization, observe how the googlebot would like it best. By default the structure looks like “www.yourdomain.com/?p=N”. Change the default structure to more comprehensible one following the 4 simple steps:
- Login into your wordpress admin panel
- Click Options > Permalinks
- Choose “custom”. If you have decided your permalink structure, type it in the blank provided or copy, paste this most popular structure./%category%/%postname%/
Of course you can choose another sequence.
- Click “update permalink structure”.
Once you have decided on your permalinks structure, it’s good to stick to it in order to avoid duplicate content.
